Why Would Anyone Become a Vegan?

We were skeptical at first, but after doing a lot of research, we became vegan because the medical evidence pointed to a plant-based whole food diet for those seeking a healthier lifestyle. After many years of living as a vegan we also became aware of how we, as Americans eat. Health conscious people call it SAD; Standard American Diet. And we found out that the way most of us eat is not sustainable. The animal population and the land cannot support this lifestyle indefinitely. Animal agriculture is the second largest contributor to human-made greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions after fossil fuels and is a leading cause of deforestation, water and air pollution and biodiversity loss.

So, we are vegans for ourselves and the many generations who follow us, our animal friends and the earth itself. We cannot continue to eat the SAD. So, if you’re open to a healthier way of living for yourself, have a love for our animals and care about the future of this planet, please consider trying a vegan’s way of life.
